The new season kicked off at Eastern Suburbs in fine conditions. 29 teams took part, which is a good turnout for July.
Top honours of the day went to the experienced ESP trio of Alexi Alexi, Ken Maski & Nick Armstrong. Taking second place for Club d’Adelaide were Alain Rousse, Paul Newman & Dominique Pierre. Finishing third were ESP’s Arwed Turon, Ha Nguyen & Van Nguyen.
Before the start of play, medals were presented to the most successful players from the previous Interclub season. These awards are based on championship points earned. The winners for the 2025/26 season, with tied scores between team-mates of either gender in both the Open and 60+ categories, were:
Best Overall: Ha Nguyen and Van Nguyen (ESP)
Best Veterans: Jean May and Jean-Paul Bouyer (Adelaide)
Best New Player: Binh Ngo (AHP)
