South Aussie Players chosen to represent Australia

Congratulations to the following SA players:

Lionel Chazal, Deb Rodda and Selina Dally 

The three players have been selected to represent Australia at an International level, Lionel at the Men’s World Championship in Canada in September and Deb and Selena in the Asian Championships in Kuala Lumpur in July.

PFA Easter Festival of Pétanque

Pétanque Federation of Australia held it’s Easter Festival of Pétanque April 13-16.  The event consisted of a shooting competition, singles, doubles and triples.   Three SA players competed in the tournament: Dave Lefer, Sukrit Vaswani and Lionel Chazal, all from Eastern Suburbs Pétanque.

They came away from the event with great results.

Lionel Chazel is the new Australian Shooting Champion.  Sukrit and Lionel are the new Australian Doubles Champions, and Dave (playing with Mohamed Qabba fom NSW) finished 3rd.

Press Release -International Pétanque Tournament to be held in Adelaide this March

The Eastern Suburbs Pétanque Club will host the Trans-Tasman Challenge at Unley Park Sports Club, 8 Northgate Street, Unley Park over the weekend of 18 & 19 March 2017.

The challenge is an annual competition between national teams representing Australia and New Zealand and alternates between the countries. This is the first time the event has been held in South Australia.

“We lodged an expression of interest to host this tournament last year and we won the bidding” ESP President Alexi Alexi said “It promotes Adelaide and it provides excitement for the Kiwis and Australians to come and do battle here in Adelaide. “It is the only international pétanque tournament held in Australia.”

The event promises a great weekend of International competition.
