The South Australian Petanque League held Round 3 of its 2022-2023 InterClub competition on Sunday 20th November 2022. The tournament was hosted by the Gawler Petanque Club.
SAPL President Stan Wilson has created this photo essay. The Tournament Director’s report will follow.
On Sunday the 20th of November 2022, ten days before the official start of summer twenty-eight Triples teams, eighty-four people, gathered to compete in the third round of this season’s Interclub League competition. The day started a bit chilly but with some watery sunshine, but by the time we started to play the second game of the day the weather had deteriorated and we suffered 70Kph winds and bursts of torrential rain. Thanks to Tina Stockley I been able to include some videos that she took in this report (see below). Turn the speakers up and click on the symbol to experience the day.

In spite of the conditions some top quality competitive pétanque was played and congratulations must go to Novar Gardens Petanque Club who, for the first time ever came first and second on the day getting a whopping 54 points in the championship table.
Thanks to Anthony Pietsch the Tournament Director, to the nine Playing Umpires and also to the volunteers from the Gawler Club that made it all possible.
